The Presidio opened in 1895 and is one of the oldest courses west of the Mississippi. For a century it belonged to the Army and you needed rank or an invitation to play it. Since 1995 it has been open to everyone, tucked into the national park above San Francisco with hills, tight cypress corridors and fog that rolls in whenever it feels like it.
