The Old Course has been played since the 1400s and it shaped everything that followed. This is where golf settled on 18 holes. Seven enormous double greens serve two holes at once, the Road Hole bunker still swallows championships, and the R and A clubhouse sits behind the first tee. Public ground, open to anyone who gets through the ballot or queues early enough at the starter's hut.
